XIAMEN PCG CELEBRATES 30TH ANNIVERSARY ON 28 FEBRUARY 2025

XIAMEN, 28 February 2025 - Personnel of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, led by Consul Charleson Hermosura, and their dependents celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen on Friday, 28 February 2025.
The event started with a Flag Raising Ceremony. A Thanksgiving Mass was later celebrated by Fr. Joseph Zhou for PCG Xiamen personnel and their dependents.
PCG personnel and dependents then gathered for breakfast while listening to the Message of the Acting Head of Post, Consul Charleson C. Hermosura. Video messages received from former Consuls General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena, Julius Caesar A. Flores, Ma. Corazon Yap-Bahjin, and other Filipino expatriates in Xiamen were played as part of the commemoration.
PCG Xiamen was established on 28 February 1995 at the request of overseas Chinese who either migrated to the Philippines from or trace their ancestors to Fujian Province since the early 10th century.
Former Presidents Corazon Aquino, Benigno Aquino, and Rodrigo Duterte trace their roots to Fujian Province. END

OFFICIALS OF PHILIPPINE BANKS IN XIAMEN VISIT PCG XIAMEN

XIAMEN 21 February 2025– The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen recently received executives of Fujian Province-based offices and branches of Philippine banks.

Metrobank’s General Manager for Xiamen Ryan Yang, GM for Quanzhou City Stephan Yu, and Ms. Khris Zhuang of same bank’s Administration Department visited the Consulate on 24 February 2025.  BDO Unibank Representative Ms. Ji Yingxi visited the Consulate later that same day.  Allied Bank’s Cai Jian-xia, Retail Banking Department head, and Chen Yi-Jun, bank teller, also called on the Consulate’s officials on 27 February 2025.

The visits provided an opportunity for an exchange of information and views pertaining to the financial sector, and on the conditions of Philippine bank representations in this part of the world.

The bank representatives expressed interest in establishing linkages with Chinese companies, particularly those doing business in the Philippines.  Most of them have Philippine companies as clients, and provide excellent service, depending on the clients’ needs and requirements.

Acting Head of Post Charleson Carolino Hermosura met with the above-named officials, together with Political/Economic/Cultural Officer Faith Bautista and Interpreter Fubin Huang. END
