PCG personnel and their dependents listen intently to Mr. Austria’s talk on current trends in arts, crafts, and home decorations – at the Philippine Consulate General on the occasion of the National Arts Month.

XIAMEN 01 March 2025 – PCG Xiamen personnel and their dependents participated in a Seminar-Workshop entitled “Art is Life, Life is Art” which featured a lecture on current trends in arts, crafts, and home decoration, as well as a Workshop on flower arrangement. Filipino designer-artist/Xiamen expatriate Mr. Angelo “Angel” Austria provided the lecture and workshop.

The participants took great delight in discovering their talents on flower arrangement with the guidance of Mr. Austria.  He provided step-by-step procedures and gave artistic suggestions, while the participants infused their own creativity and talent in the activity.  At the end of the session, Mr. Austria provided awards to outstanding ‘flower arrangers.’

Mr. Austria believes that the knowledge of flower arrangement could be a source of alternative income, based on his personal experience while he was in the Philippines.

He guided the participants in fashioning flower bouquets, table centerpieces, and headdresses.  His lecture on current trends on arts, crafts, and home decorations was also well-received by the audience.

Acting Head of Post Consul Charleson Hermosura, in his welcome remarks, stressed the importance of art in the conduct of economic and cultural diplomacy.

PCG Xiamen awarded Mr. Austria with a certificate of appreciation. END
