The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen led by Acting Head of Post, Vice Consul Elaine Mae V. Laruan-Hernandez joined the historic live-stream online virtual celebration of the 122nd Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) founding anniversary on 23 July 2020 held at its Bulwagang Bayan/Heroes Hall.
In order not to miss the event, the Consulate General employed various online platforms to keep up with the challenges and limitations with online accessibilities.
The Consulate General was cited and given recognition for its Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) work and five (5) personnel were among the Loyalty Awardees recognized for their selfless and dedicated service.
The Consulate General is adapting to the “new normal” and taking advantage of technology to respond and deliver better public service.
The event coincided with the birthday of Apolinario Mabini, the first Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
